Life Lesson

When you love someone, you tell them everything there is to know about you... the good and the bad. And then you let them decide if they will still choose to love you. If they do, then good for them. If not, then good for you."~ Mary Anne E. Delos Santos

Near and Dear

The house sparrow
is a common little bird in my neighborhood.
Often overlooked and in spite of it's many short comings is always welcome here.

“I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment, while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance that I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn.”
Henry David Thoreau

Roses are red, roses are blue ?

Yesterday was a thoughtful exchange of flowers, valentines and candy. The bouquet above may look like one large bouquet but it's really a collection of vases clustered together. Look at that blue rose from Tom! And the peach one from Theresa. The white rose is from my sweetheart and all the rest of the beautiful flowers are from Nora. (Thank-you)

And...
Xavier 's other front tooth fell out!

Flowers

You know I love Love. I am such a romantic and Valentine's Day has always been celebrated around this house. We visited Nana and Grandpa, exchanged valentines, had a toast with bubbly, ate some chocolate, looked at pictures, smiled, hugged, laughed, came home, made tacos and went to bed.
I appreciate your visit, thank-you. xox ~Elaine

Happy Valentine's Day to You

Xavier was busy signing his Spiderman Valentines. They came with tattoos but not candy. We scotch taped a Hershey kiss to each card. The home made valentine above is from Emma when she was in grade school. I've had it hanging in my room since she presented it to me years ago.
This is one of my most favorite days. I'll post more soon. I just didn't want to miss out wishing you all a wonderful day today.
Spread the Love!

Smile

I Love this song, I've been singing it to myself today.
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though its breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you.
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
-instrumental interlude-
Thats the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

Home Sweet Home

This is a picture of the entrance to my living room. I still haven't put Christmas decorations into boxes yet. I'll miss that old tinsel garland. The sign stays up always. By having this blog I'm welcoming the whole world into my humble home. I'm glad that you happened to find this page. Not everyone is able to have their own house. Whether you live in a palace or a shelter or anywhere in between I hope that there's love. If not...then I've got plenty to share. So just keep coming back and I'll share mine with you.

'Mid pleasures and palaces Though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble,
There's no place like home.
A charm from the skies
Seems to hallow us there,
Which seek thro' the world,
Is ne'er met with elsewhere.
Home, home, sweet sweet home,
There's no place like home,
There's no place like home.

I gaze on the moon
As I tread the drear wild,
And feel that my mother
Now thinks of her child;
As she looks on that moon
From our own cottage door,
Thro' the woodbine whose fragrance
Shall cheer me no more.
Home, home, sweet sweet home,
There's no place like home,
There's no place like home.

An exile from home,
Splendor dazzles in vain,
Oh, give me my lowly
Thatched cottage again;
The birds singing gaily,
That came at my call:
Give me them and that
Peace of mind, dearer than all.
Home, home, sweet sweet home,
There's no place like home,
There's no place like home. --Payne & Bishop
